A note from Bonnie:

While on my way to South Dakota to photograph a farmstead that was a commissioned painting, these beautiful mares caught my attention. A mile later, I turned around and went back to grab pictures that would evolve into this painting. 

I especially loved how these horses played off the splendid autumn colors in the background.
