The Artist And Her Accomplishments

An artist takes us on a journey with each stroke of the brush…. they are in a sense, our guide, pointing out the subtle delights in a seemingly ordinary path. Rural American artist Bonnie Mohr has been our guide for twenty years ~ taking us down peaceful country roads, through lush pastures, into the barnyard for chores and invited us into the backyard to watch her children play.

Bonnie Mohr has earned her well-deserved reputation as one of America’s most eminent painters of Rural America and the domestic animal. Her work meets the demanding standards of agriculture’s industry experts as well as please the discerning eye of the knowledgeable art collector. Each oil painting represents hours of exacting research and creative planning that comes together when she begins each new piece. Mohr’s self-taught artistic skills, blend realism with an innate sense of color and design, making each original a classic work of art. Bonnie Mohr paints with a magic that creates a voice within each painting – capturing our heart, rekindling sweet memories and touching our deepest emotions – a rare and special gift given by this artist.

Since beginning her journey of canvas, brush and pigment in 1988, Bonnie’s art has grown into a breadth of work that touches every aspect of the look, the language and the sentiments of rural America. Raised one of eight children of a dairy farmer, she and husband John now raise their five children on a dairy farm near Glencoe, Minnesota. Here she balances a busy family, a business and her heart’s desire to create artwork that captures the heritage and lifestyle that she loves. Behind her big smile and petite frame, she is just a farm girl who packs an enormous love for painting her passions – straight from the heart. “Through my work, I hope you will feel a sense of inspiration, find a special meaning in ordinary day-to-day events, and sense a connection to the farm, the land and the life that it gives.” comments Mohr.

For more than 10 years, Bonnie has welcomed the public to visit her studio located right on the Mohr family farm near Glencoe, Minnesota. Her studio gift store exhibits her originals as well as framed prints and giclees. As a business owner she has reproduced her original artwork as lithographic prints, giclees, mini-prints, note cards and Christmas cards, making them available to purchase at her studio, through a direct mail catalog and this website.

The integrity and authenticity of her rural American images is confirmed by her long-standing relationships with leading agri-businesses such as Purina Mills, 3M, Cargill, Select Sires, World Dairy Expo, American Jersey Cattle Club and Rosedale Wallcovering & Fabric, Elanco, Vita Plus, Land o’ Lakes, Fort Dodge Animal Health, Pfizer, and Allflex USA. Her beautiful artwork has also been featured in such notable publications as Agri View, Dairy Today, County, Holstein World, Dairyman’s Digest, U.S. Art, Hoard”s Dairyman, InformArt, Farm and Ranch Living, Minnesota Moments, and Country Woman Magazine.

Bonnie Mohr is a two time recipient of the 1994 and 1996 Judges Merit Award presented to her at the prestigious Midwest Wildlife and Western Art Exhibit and Sale in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1997, Bonnie was the selected artist to recreate the renowned County Agricultural Agents painting, originally created by Norman Rockwell. She was also accepted into the prestigious 2007 Greenwich Workshop Miniatures Original Show. In 2006, Bonnie participated in the CowParade of Wisconsin, sponsored by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. Her life-size fiberglass cow statue, “Turquoise Tillie” was part of the “CowParade Auction” benefiting a new American Family Children’s Hospital.
